Bovine critters and a baby

Driving along the farm road after work today, I stopped to photograph the latest addition to the diary herd. I had seen this little calf on wobbly legs, umbilical cord still wet, snuggled up to his mum. the big red cow, early on Thursday morning. It had just arrived in the world!
Mama cow warns Skabenga to keep away from her baby !

So tiny and so perfectly formed

Up nearer the house is the calf nursery. This is where the calves are kept once they're taken from the cows
The milk lady had just fed them a bucket each of their mama's milk. But they are already grazing on the lush grass surrounding their enclosure

In the paddock opposite the calf nursery, are the intermediate calves. They already graze and are given feed every day

I'm linking to Saturday Critters with Eileen here

HAPPY THURSDAY TO YOU ALL
